Y de eso va este libro que presento EL LAPSO subtitulado “un paseo por una mente atormentada”.Ruthy García, su autora, crea el argumento de este libro a partir de la diversidad de personalidades que sufre un individuo. Saber quién es, realmente, es lo que el lector debe descubrir. Padecer un trastorno de identidad disociativo (TID) significa convivir con la percepción de estar poseído por diversas personalidades que controlan el comportamiento de la persona, actuando en su entorno, sin ser consciente de su dominio. Estos cambios de personalidades suponen una distorsión en el tiempo, con amnesia de hechos pasados, creando sus propias “realidades” a partir de las “conversaciones” mentales que dominan al individuo, una despersonalización de éste bajo el dominio de aquellos.En EL LAPSO la autora intenta dejar patente el sufrimiento, el dolor, la “confusión”, la “irrealidad” en que vive un individuo, obsesionado por la lectura, víctima de un hecho traumático, que le llevará a divagar entre dos personalidades. Será Lara Nova, una psicóloga residente, que pondrá en marcha una terapia de comunicación e integración entre las diferentes personalidades de dicho individuo, para poder intentar tener una vida dentro de la “normalidad” y la “rutina” Es en el “Lapso” el lugar donde nuestro protagonista consigue superar las “crisis” que en muchos momentos sufre sin saber exactamente quién es. Es curioso porque “lapso” se define según la RAE:lapso2Del lat. lapsus, -us ‘deslizamiento, caída’.m. Paso o transcurso.m. Tiempo entre dos límites.m. Caída en una culpa o errorlapso (‖ tiempo entre dos límites)Entre el “lapso” de tiempo, entre los límites de ser Arthur Paradize o Brandtom el protagonista, Cooper, consigue cierta “cordura” consciente de la realidad, siempre guiado por Lara Nova, que aunque a momentos sea despreciada por el Sr.Paradize: “–Eso, exactamente, orden, disciplina, belleza, esas tres palabras definen la perfección—“ y sentirse amada por Brandtom: “Dulce flor fría, ¿podrías ser mía? Porque nada es lo que parece, hechos que se precipitan, muertes donde la venganza, la ambición y la obsesión mueven a las personas, aprovechando la “confusión” y la “amnesia” en la que vive a menudo el protagonista. Ante tanta vulnerabilidad se aprecia en el libro que existen más enfermos mentales que aquellos diagnosticados, personas que se mueven por intereses afectivos y de libertad, consiguiendo una atmósfera claustrofóbica tanto para el lector como para los personajes.Es un divagar, un paseo de “confusión” que consigue Ruthy para hacernos partícipe de los pensamientos y distorsiones que respira Cooper, llegando a empatizar con él, aunque en ocasiones sea “cruel” y perfeccionista, según sea Arthur o “romántico” cuando asume la personalidad de Brandtom.Es EL LAPSO también una historia donde el AMOR se diluye entre líneas, amores obsesivos y enfermizos. Amores que perviven en cartas en el más puro romanticismo del amor adolescente. Es también una historia de secretos que dejan sobre el papel la ambición y la venganza en la que podemos recaer persiguiendo un destino. Traumas, adicciones que
