La protagonista es Sofía, una muchacha de dieciocho años que se encuentra involucrada en una antigua lucha entre una divinidad llamada Morrigan, a quién ella está ligada, y Mefisto, un pérfido inmortal del Reino de Tenot. Los acontecimientos se desarrollan en Naostur, un universo paralelo poblado por seres mágicos (hadas, ñomos, demonios y antiguas divinidades) y subdividido en dos reinos: Elos y Tenot. Inicialmente para la protagonista es difícil aceptar todo aquello que le sucedió, a partir del hecho de estar muerta físicamente en el mundo real hasta los misteriosos hechos de su infancia. Debe descubrir sola quién la quiere llevar a la parte del mal y por qué en ella el poder de Morrigan parece más evidente que en las otras dos custodias: Sonia y Sara. Durante el cuento otros personajes tienen una importancia particular. Como Gabriel, un misterioso y oscuro ángel negro, y Ares, un fascinante inmortal de orígenes desconocidos. Los protagonistas principales y el pueblo del Reino de Elos se encuentran combatiendo una dura guerra contra Mefisto, quien intenta de todas maneras derrotar a Sofía, utilizando todo medio disponible y llegando a despertar a tres antiguos demonios portadores de discordia, caos y muerte. Cada capítulo es una sucesión de golpes de escena, hasta llegar al final inesperado en el que los eventos cambiarán radicalmente.
